Privacy notice
Pilot version, October 2026. Written in plain words. A school or district should review it with its own counsel before classroom use.
The short version
RGO Class is a practice game. Students only give us a first name, a 4 number PIN, and a character they pick. We do not ask for emails, last names, photos, birthdays, phone numbers, or locations. We do not sell data, show ads, or use student data for marketing.
What we collect from students
- First name (up to 20 letters).
- A 4 number PIN. We store it scrambled (hashed), never as plain numbers.
- The cartoon character they chose. Never a photo.
- What their team did in the game: trades, stops, and any feeling or reason they chose to add.
- Quiz answers and scores, if the teacher turned the quiz on.
- Notes they choose to send using the feedback button.
- If the teacher turns on team roles: short ideas teammates post to each other on their team page. Only the team and the teacher can see them, and the teacher can remove any of them.
- If the teacher turns on pop-up trivia: whether each answer was right.
- If the teacher asks for permission slips: only a yes or no that the slip is on file. We do not collect the slip itself or any parent details.
What we do not collect
Last names, student email addresses, photos, birthdays, phone numbers, home or school addresses, student ID numbers, or precise location. There is no open chat between students, only the short team ideas described above.
How it is used
Only to run the game, show the leaderboard, and show the teacher how the class did (scores, trades, quiz growth). Data collected through a school is not used to market products to students.
Who can see it
The class teacher sees their own class. Students see their team and the class leaderboard (team names and scores). The projector screen shows team names and scores only. Red Rose Technologies LLC can access data to run and fix the game.
Cookies and your device
One sign-in cookie keeps a student in their game on that device. Your look settings (dark or light, colorblind colors) and your language choice are saved in your browser. There are no ad or tracking cookies.
Keeping and deleting data
Game data is deleted automatically about 12 months after a class's last activity. A teacher can delete a whole class and all its data at any time, and can remove a student or give a student a new PIN. We keep backup copies, stored on our own computer with restricted access and not encrypted, for up to 30 days to protect against loss; a deleted class stays in those backups until they age out. An activity log records admin actions such as deletions, without student PINs. Parents, guardians, and schools can ask us to delete a child's data at any time using the contact below.
Teachers and co-teachers
Teachers sign in with an email address. We email a one-time sign-in link, and a school can limit sign-in to its own email domain. A teacher can share a class with up to five co-teachers by email; co-teachers can run that class and see its results. We keep teacher email addresses only to run sign-in and class sharing.
Real Market prices
The optional Real Market tab shows real company prices from free public sources, about 15 minutes late. It uses pretend money only. Nothing a student does there touches a real account, and the prices are not investment advice.
Children and schools
The game is built to work without student emails or accounts. Schools should make sure they have any consent they need before students use it. Teachers can print a plain-language permission slip from the game, and can ask the game to hold students back from trading until the slip is marked as on file. We are working toward full school-ready compliance (COPPA and FERPA) and will update this notice as that work is finished.
